Corinthias Prime

Bericht door Overseer » 14-03-2016 21:36

It had taken considerable time to get to Corinthias. With the War broken out, there was neigh to no passenger transportation to the mining colonies.
It had taken him weeks to get here, and when he got there the amount of security was increased so much that he wondered if there were any Sky seekers left now.

More than double the usual guards everywhere, curfews and horrible checkpoints.

And to make things worse, his local stash had been raided. Either by local security or by local criminals, he couldn't tell by the marks.

Soji sipped from his glass of water as he looked at familiar stars through his hotel window.
It was a clear night and he would have gone out, gone up high, if not for the many patrols and the many security measures taken to prevent free-running, the latter of which he had spotted during the day. He sucked his teeth at the notion; there were various criminal groups active on Corinthias, but the Sky Seekers were hardly the worst of them - they were only trespassing.
He considered that for a moment.
Usually only trespassing, but that made it no less offensive to the part of him that felt offended.
Soji scoffed and put his glass on the ground beside him, before closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. He put his frustrations aside. It was time to go to work.
He had grown up on Corinthias; he didn't actually need to scale its buildings in order to see things from up high. He put his feet on the on the ground and leaned back in his chair, before placing his palms against one another and resting his chin on top of his fingertips.
To an outsider, it might have looked as though he were praying. In truth, it was a meditative technique he'd developped years ago in order to break a mission down.
As he began, he saw the city below him. Before his minds eye, the streets lit up with green light, forming a map.
The first thing he had to do was buy new equipment - whoever had robbed him didn't take anything of great value, but they had been the basic tools of the trade, and while not all of them were actually illegal, but a backpack full of them might raise some unwanted questions.
Several spots lit up on the map. They were pubs, warehouses and back alley shops - places where he could obtain both information and gear.
There was one piece of specialized equipment, however, that would be more difficult to obtain; he knew he'd need a digital lockpick in order to open the hatch in the abandoned facility.
Ratsy would have one, if he wasn't currently incarcerated.
As he moved from point to point, he considered that the increase in security personnel was going to be the real hassle - it was a lot worse than he had anticipated and it meant two things: He had to move carefully both during and after obtaining his gear; and getting whatever valuables he got his hands on here off the planet was next to impossible on his own.
Still, there were solutions for that too, of course - the Twins might be able to help there, for a reasonable fee.
As he continued clearing the details of each part of the mission, he purposefully ignored the actual infiltration of the abandoned facility and the digging site for the time being. He would contemplate those matters on the way there.
(⌐■_■) - "They say 'war is good for business' - well, not with all this increased security everywhere."
